Day 6

I woke up this morning with a bad headache and I'm not sure why? I tried to drink a glass of wine last night but could only get a few sips down, it was down right nasty. That's what I get for buying $5.00 wine at Trader Joe's...yucky! Well, this morning I weighed 144.6!!! OMG how did I lose 3 pounds over night? Maybe I didn't drink enough water or eat enough yesterday? Actually I know I went below 1,200 calories :::stupid me:::: So I know my weight will probably be higher tomorrow and I won't beat myself up about it...ok I will most likely still beat myself up about it ha. We are going to watch my Nephew's basketball game today and I'm not sure what else.
B-Blueberry Oatmeal from TJ's with 1% milk - 230 (this was kinda gross)
S1- Apple- 100
S2-Z Clif Bar- 130
L-White Chicken Teriyaki with Brown Rice - 400
D- Chicken Pot Pie- 340 - We are going to a bar to watch the fights so we will see how destructive I am.
S3- It's 10:30 and I'm drinking a Diet Root Beer. Also, Pineapple/Whip-200
E- I walked Roxie around the neighborhood
Total Calories = 1,400

My Baked Ziti from the other night. I shouldn't even post the recipe because it's pretty embarrassing how simple it is. I should be making my sauce from scratch seeing that I'm 50% Italian and my Mom arrived in NYC from Italy when she was 8. =) Anyway, 1 box of Fiber Pasta, 1.5 jars of Prego :::hangs head in shame:::, 1 small container of part skim ricotta and 1 cup of low-fat mozzarella cheese. Mix everything but the mozzarella and place in a 9x13 baking dish. Top with cheese and bake covered @ 350 for about 35 minutes. Take off cover and continue baking until cheese is golden brown.

This is my Best Friend Noelle/old roomy of many years and she is going to run a 13 mile 1/2 marathon with me in October. =) Love ya girl!

I'm happy to report that my little Roxie is back to her old self after her spay exactly one week ago. We are going to visit my brother-in-law and his doggie Marley tonight. =)

Day 5

Wow, can't believe it's day 5 already. I woke up starving this morning and Roxie was in my face at 4:30am ready for a walk...grrr. I made it out for a run yesterday, I'm guessing it was close to 3 miles. I took my crazy dog with me which was a mistake. She hasn't gone on a long walk since last week because of her surgery and I'm pretty sure she forgot how to walk on a leash. It was a mess, she kept darting out in the road towards the end. Anyway, I thought I was going to die in the middle of the run but I kept on going. I weighed 146.4 or 146.6 this morning, I was hoping to see a lower number but oh well. Yay, I'm so happy it's FRIDAY! Although, I'm super bummed Derek has to work on Super Bowl Sunday! I want to go to the gym at least once this's right across the street so I have no excuses. Here is today....
*NOTE TO SELF~Do not go to Trader Joe's hungry...don't ask me why I bought chips and guacamole. =(

Day 4

Good morning! Almost Friday, yippie! Yesterday went really well. After work I did The Biggest Loser workout, it wasn't as hard as 30DS.
I was starving all day and nothing I had in my fridge sounded good for dinner. I need to go shopping ASAP, I think I will stick to Trader Joe's this time and buy a bunch of yummy stuff. It's a gloomy day in Seattle but I'm going to *try* and get a run in later tonight. If not, I will do some type of workout.
This morning I weighed 146.6. Here is my game plan...
B- Dry Cereal/Coffee - 150
S- Pear - 100
L- Chicken Pot Pie - 300
*EDIT S- Apple - 100 Fiber 1 Oats and Chocolate - 140 (if needed) - was needed and I'm still kinda hungry SAD! OMG these bars make my tummy hurt. =(
D- Baked Ziti and Broccoli- 400
S- 100 Calorie Kettle Korn - love this stuff!
E- 3 Mile Run

Chicken Pot Pie

Chicken Pot Pie
This was my dinner last night. It's my favorite meal because it's yummy, easy and pretty healthy.
*3-4 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast - cut up in bite sized pieces and cooked with salt, pepper

*1 large pack of mixed veggies - whatever you prefer

*about 1 cup of chicken stock

*2 cans of cream of chicken Soup - healthy request

*2 boxes of the little jiffy cornbread mixes

Super easy, just combine everything besides the cornbread in a 9x13 baking dish. Once everything is set, top it with the cornbread mix. Bake at 350 for about 35-40 minutes.

Day 3 - wohoo

Good morning! I did really well yesterday, I stuck to my plan besides a few (20 hehe) almonds I ate while making dinner. I was SO full after dinner for some reason, I feel like I didn't overeat so I don't know why. I will post the recipe later for the most yummy and healthy chicken pot pie. The best part about it is the leftovers. The scale read 147 and 147.2 so no change yet. I'm so bloated that when I looked in the mirror I thought I could be pregnant...ha! Derek works until 8 tonight so I'm on my own for dinner. I watched half the biggest loser and fell asleep...sad! I hope someone Tivoed it. Here is my plan for today...Happy Hump Day!
B- Dry Cereal/Coffee - 150
S- Banana - 100
L-Chicken Pot Pie - 350
S1- Trail Mix - 160 -I was straving after lunch so I had to add this
S2- Pear -100
*EDIT D- Steelcut Oatmeal, 1 waffle and 1 soy sausage - 300 - Damn I'm starving today! I'm trying to say in control when I really want to hit up Taco Time!
S- Pineapple and lite cool whip - 200 - SO yummy!
E- Tonight I'm going to make myself do 30 Day Shred. I did level 2 on Saturday and it felt amazing. I was so sore the next day. I think starting this weekend I can start walking Roxie again.

PS. I wanted wine last night soooo bad but I resisted. =) Come this weekend, I'm going to enjoy a nice glass!

I wanted to post some before and after pictures. I'm 5'10 and started dieting around this time last year. I started at around 175 and was 140-141 on my wedding day 11/08/08.

Day 2

Good morning! I'm feeling pretty good this morning cause for once I didn't pig out last night. I had my 100 calorie bag of popcorn and my 25 calorie hot chocolate...yum! OH and I can't forget I had l little dark chocolate square, not nearly as bad as usual.
I watched Oprah last night and totally bawled like a baby. The subject was teen obesity and it was the saddest thing ever. Anyway, here is my plan for today.
B- Dry Cereal and coffee - 160
S- Banana - 100
L- Sweet Potato and Veggie Burger..again hehe - 300
S- Apple - 100
D- This is up in the air, Derek had tonight off so I want to make healthy chicken pot pie - 400
S- Something around 200 calories

PS. I weight 147 this morning I think...stupid scale kept reading different numbers.

For real this time - Day 1

Gosh I'm a slacker! I did pretty well this weekend with eating until last night. It's like a light flips on after dinner and it's time to pig out. Now I'm ready to hold myself accountable and lose some weight. Our pup Roxie had surgery this weekend so this week is going to be tough for working out. I can't wait to start going on long walks with her again. Anyway, here is today.

B - Cinnamon Oatmeal - 150
S- Pear - 100
L- Sweet Potato and Veggie Burger - 300
S- Apple + Trail Mix - 250
D- Leftover Mongolian Grill - 400
S- Something with 100-200 calories and that's it!

PS. Started my period today, sorry if that's TMI but I weighed 147.6 after work.

On my way to eating healthy

I did so well before the wedding about eating well and working out every day, I became a bit obsessed. I'm excited for the New Year and to hopefully lose around ten pounds. Derek doesn't think I need to lose weight but I truly believe those last ten pounds would make me happy. I'm also excited to have a blog to post my progress and my recipes. Happy New Year Everyone!
