TGIF

Yay we made it to Friday. This week has been incredibly busy. I haven't made it to the gym but I've taken Roxie on a walk almost every night.
I did however find time to get my hair done last night lol. $300 later BOO but it looks good.
After my hair appointment my bff and I took the dogs on a walk. For dinner we went to a local Pho restaurant. It was SO good but I was hungry afterwards. The typical me would pour a huge bowl of cereal and stuff my face. Instead I made some 100 calorie popcorn with a little dark chocolate. I wanted so badly to raid the kitchen but I held back.
I'm getting excited and nervous for my charity BBQ tomorrow. My amazing husband is going to Costco with me tonight to buy all of the food. He is such a good sport. I'm trying not to think about it or I'm going to stress. I see a big glass of wine in my future.
I will take lots of pictures tomorrow. I ALWAYS forget my camera but I need to start taking more pictures.
On a side note, I haven't weighed myself in forever. I'm thinking that I shouldn't because my past with an eating disorder. Hmmm...something to think about.

Good Morning...

Where has the week gone? It's almost FRIDAY! Work has been pure madness. Life has been crazy too. It feels like our new house is slowly coming together. Who knew cabinets were so expensive?!
I've been doing really well with my diet this week. The gym, not so much. At least the diet is good.
After work tonight I'm getting my hair cut and colored. Tomorrow I need to go shopping at Costco. I'm so nervous because I'm putting on a charity BBQ for 150 people. The charity is Rise n' Shine. My company works really closely with this non-profit and they are some amazing people. Anyway, the BBQ is Saturday afternoon and I'm so excited. I just hope everything goes well. My awesome mom offered to help cook, she just happens to be a chef.
Nothing else super exciting to talk about in my life.
I got my hubby to start liking omlets for dinner. Every night this week we've had omlets. Mine are mostly egg whites with ham or soy sausage, jalapenos and whatever veggies I have on hand.
The best snack ever...are you ready...100 calorie kettle korn! Once it's done popping, poor it into a bowl and sprinkle with dark chocolate chips. Sorta messy but oh so yummy.
One more thing, I've been eating lots of veggies this week. I'm always good with my fruits but I needed more veggies in my life.

Monday Again...

Booo, my weekend went by way too fast. I didn't do a whole lot. I woke up early on Saturday to volunteer for a charity my company works with. Saturday night hubby and I went out for yummy Mexican food. I cheated a quite a bit this weekend but I'm back on it today.
As I laid in bed last night shoving my face with red vines I really did not know what I was thinking. Oh, but they tasted SO good.
Sunday I cleaned the house top to bottom and took Roxie on a long walk. I somehow spent $200 on groceries and it feels like I didn't get that much. Oh well, now I have some healthy goodies in the house.
I forgot to mention that I ran 5 miles at the gym on Saturday. BAD idea because I messed up my hip and knees. I feel like an old lady but I really screwed up my body.
Work has been crazy busy and so stressful. I'm breaking out like a teenager right now. That could be blamed on pms-ing too. It's nice to be busy but it really puts a damper on blogging lol.
I'm not sure if anyone else works in HR but we are in the middle of insurance open enrollment/renewal and it's stressing me the F out. Our insurance company wants to raise our rates 30% and it's coming down to the wire.
I'm thinking about walking Roxie tomorrow morning. Even if it's just for 20 minutes. I have kickboxing tomorrow night that I will NOT miss.
Alright, I need to eat dinner and turn off Paula Dean. She is making me want some chocolate.

The Offspring

I'm stoked because I get to leave work in 3.5 hours to see The Offspring. I'm also excited to spend the afternoon with my hubby. I could totally use the money lately but screw it, I'm going to take the half day. I will take lots of pictures!
I'm wondering if I will be home in time to attend kickboxing tonight? I would love to go for a second week in a row. Last nights workout was good. I ran 2 miles on the treadmill and did 30 minutes on the elliptical, fat burner mode.
For dinner I made grilled cheese and tomato soup. I've been on a grilled cheese kick lately.
I'm pounding back to coffee right now and trying to wake up.
I need to get some work done before I go.
Since I'm leaving at 11:45 I brought Greek yogurt w/berries + granola for breakfast and a banana for the road.

Late

But better than never. I didn't post this morning because my work computer is all funked up....to put it nicely. I'm so frustrated that I can't just get a new computer already.
I had a great Sunday with the hubby. We saw The Hangover and it was HILARIOUS! You have to see it! The whole theatre was cracking up the entire movie.
I'm SO excited for tomorrow. I get to meet The Offspring! I won tickets off the radio and we get to see them play live plus tickets to their show. So, this means I'm working a half day tomorrow. I love my boss for letting me take a half day with one days notice.
After work today I hauled to the gym and got a nice workout. It felt so good after my candy/icky food fest yesterday.
Did anyone else watch Kendra last night? I love that girl!
Alright, I'm off to make dinner.

Sunday Blues

Sunday means back to work tomorrow. Oh well, I will make the best of it.
I made it to the gym yesterday and cleaned my house. It was a pretty relaxing day overall. It was also nice to visit with my parent's.
Last night the hubby and I went on a dinner date. It's been forever since we went out ALONE. It seems like we always go out with friends or other couples. Anyway, we went to the best Thai restaurant ever. I'm so proud that I didn't gorge myself. I enjoyed one glass of wine and once my meal arrived I immediately cut it in half. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied and not full. On the way home we stopped by McDonald's for soft serve, classy I know.
We might see the Hang Over today. My sister-in-law called last night and said we HAVE to see it and that it's absolutely the funniest movie she has ever seen. I'm super excited to see it now.
Otherwise, I don't know about working out today. It doesn't sound appealing right now but I will rethink this later.

Sleepy

I'm still half asleep but I'm working on it. Once I'm done with my coffee I should be good to go.
Last night the hubs and I took Roxie to the dog park and we rented He's Just Not That Into You. I also have to admit that we bought a frozen pizza. I wanted to make one at home but we didn't have the energy at 8pm. Anyway, I had a normal portion. I also had some strawberries and whip cream WITH ice cream. I really, really, really did NOT need the ice cream but what can I do about it now? Back to the movie, I feel asleep in the middle of it so I need to watch the rest today. My co-worker said it was an awesome movie.
I'm not sure what my game plan is today. The weather is finally perfect. I'm going to head to the gym in a bit. Later today I'm going to visit my parent's. I haven't seen them in weeks.
Tomorrow is going to be my shopping day. I'm going to buy healthy goodies to last me throughout the week.

Happy Friday!

Good morning! I'm actually feeling pretty awake this morning, pre-coffee.
I just heard today is National Doughnut Day! Oh how I would love a doughnut, just one...alright maybe two. I would have a cake doughnut and a maple glazed. mmmm Portland has some of the best doughnuts ever. Alright, I need to stop.
Last night my friend and I took the pups on a nature walk. We worked up a good sweat.
After, we got teriyaki for dinner. I ordered the chicken breast with brown rice. For dessert I cut up some strawberries and mixed them with a little light whip cream.
I'm so happy to report that it's finally cooling off. I've had to worst time trying to sleep this week.

1 more day

Until Friday! Yay! Also, today is supposed to be the last day of our heat wave. It's been 90+ all week and it's pretty miserable. I can't even cook because my entire place heats up.
I'm super sore today, worse than yesterday, and I didn't even workout hard yesterday. It must be from kickboxing. Last night Derek and I took Roxie on a 2 mile walk around the neighborhood.
Moving on, I'm totally annoyed that I'm the only person in my entire office who ever makes coffee. I get here in the morning and there is a drip left so I make some more and by the time I walk over it's gone. LAZY! I'm a mess in the am before I get my coffee fix. I'm almost tempted to buy a coffee maker for my office. Out of 50 people I'm the only one! haha alright vent over.
Speaking of coffee, I really want to stop using Coffeemate creamer. It's full of sugar and bad stuff. Any suggestions? I almost think half and half would be better. I don't use a lot but it still adds up.
So, I won studio Metric tickets on Monday and I decided to give them to my hubby and his friend. They are performing downtown today at 2pm and I can't really leave work. I'm excited that they get to meet the band and see an intimate acoustic session.
I'm not sure what is going on tonight. I'm pretty sure I have a gym date with my friend. I hope the guys don't talk us into skipping the gym and hanging out.

Hump Day

Hey I made it to the middle of the week! I'm super duper sore this lovely morning. Kickboxing kicked my butt last night. I love that class.
I was alone last night and I didn't feel like cooking so I had cereal and one flax pancake with a little peanut butter.
Today is supposed to be close to 90 again, this is really messing with my sleep. So, I think I might take the night off or go on a walk later with the hubs.
After work I have to take my car in because the A/C isn't working. After my car accident in November my poor car has gone down the crapper. It sucks because it's brand new and some idiot hit me. I forget if I told that story yet? To sum it up I got hit less than one week before my wedding and my car was was almost totaled.
Anyway, I searched at two different stores this morning for Greek Yogurt with no luck, BOO. So I got plan fat free yogurt and fruit to mix in. I will be on a manhunt later for Greek Yogurt.

L- Veggie Burger/Sweet Potato Fries/Carrots
D- Not sure, my hubby is off today so maybe we will grab takeout?

When will the heat stop?

I'm dying here! Today is supposed to be 85-90. This never happens and I'm dying a little bit. Alright, I will stop bitching now.
I made it to the gym last night but could not run because it was at least 100 degrees inside. Instead I did 40 minutes on the elliptical and then took Roxie on a little walk. I was a total mess by the time I got home.
We had egg white omelets for dinner. Well, sorta...I mixed two egg whites and one whole egg with peppers, onions and tofu sausage.
I'm totally addicted to Greek yogurt, I'm looking forward to my breakfast this morning. It actually keeps me full until lunch, which never happens.
Tonight I'm meeting my best friend to head to kickboxing. It's nice that I have her depending on me to go because I usually cop out on the class.

L- Leftover whole wheat pasta with turkey meatballs

Monday already?

Where did the weekend go? I just realized that I didn't blog at all.
This weekend was surprisingly well on the health front, not counting my pizza binge on Friday. Saturday and Sunday were great. I went to the gym Saturday and my friend and I went on a walk Sunday. It's been super hot, for Seattle, this past week. I'm talking near 85 degrees. I was not prepared at all for this heat.
We spent Saturday night BBQing with friends and then hit up the casino. I lost around $40, could have been worse. Then my bro-in-law and his g/f got into a fight about having kids. He wants kids now and she wants to finish school. I know they are both close to 30 but who cares. No one should ever feel pressured to have kids. I think my bro-in-law was a compete douche to bring such a sensitive subject up in front of friends.
So, last night I bought some lunch stuff for this week including 0% Greek yogurt. Anyone try this stuff? I'm excited to try it this morning.
