Pre-Halloween Fun

*Meant to post last night*
We made it to Friday!! When my alarm went off this morning I was basically in shock, my body is tired.
Well, I walked into my office this morning and saw a card waiting for me.
The controller of the company wrote the nicest note to me.  Not very often does HR get thanked for the work we do.  She also gave me a Starbucks card! ♥ So sweet, that really made my day.

Tonight we are going to our friend's house warming/Halloween party.  I'm going to be that person, and not dress up.  I'm just not feeling the spirit at the moment maybe I will snap out of it later.  I need to get them a gift eeEkk!  How rude would that be if he showed up with no gift?  I'm thinking a nice bottle of wine.

Tomorrow morning I'm getting my hair done, it's much overdue.  I don't know I let my roots get so bad, probably because I'm a cheap ass.

Breakfast: Fage with Go Lean ~ Want a bite? MMmm

Here is the first baby to visit, so looked SO so SO cute and she gives the best hugs.  I love her!

Snack time ~ can you believe this was one apple?  HUGE!

More babies ~ I want one....It's so hard to work today with all of these little one's visiting, that's alright I LOVE it. ♥

Lunch:  Nothing worse than going to make your lunch at 2PM to see that someone is using the microwave for 10 minutes.  What the hell do you cook in the microwave for 10 minutes? UGH  Anyway, I had to scarf down my other 1/2 Mojo Bar.  That helped me stay sane while waiting to heat up my chicken.
Sandwich was meh, soggy bread is never good.  My BBQ Popchips were the most exciting part on my plate, so yummy!
Now I' m full, hate that.

This is the husband's work.  The girls are butterflies and the boys are exterminators.

This is the beautiful Bella! ♥

A monster inside me

Well, we made it to Thursday that means we have ONE more day until party time with lots of wine Friday!!  Can you hear the excitement in my voice?
Today will be my 4th working this week, but technically my 7th in a row, so needless to say I'm taking tomorrow off.
Today is supposed to be my leg day according to my handy dandy schedule but I think I did enough legs yesterday.  Seeing that I can barley walk, I don't think legs are possible tonight.  There is also Turbokick tonight, so that's another option.
So, tomorrow is "Halloween" in my office.  I have no idea if I'm going to dress up.  Part of me really wants to and the other part doesn't.  My sister-in-law had a pirate party last month so I have my costume form that I could wear.  We are also going to a party tomorrow night that we are supposed to dress up for.  Hmm decisions, decisions.

Breakfast: TJ's Honey Greek Yogurt w/raspberries and Kashi Go Lean.  The perfect amount of sweetness this time.
I've been pounding Vitamin C because everyone in my office is sick!   Stay FAR away from me please!

Snack was Amazing Grass Kitz Supergood Chocolate.  I have one word for this...YUM!  This tasted like I was drinking chocolate milk, maybe because I'm a kid at heart?

Lunch was divine.  I practically flew to the break room I was so hungry, move out of the way or someone might get hurt.
I had a buffet of food today that included carrots, an apple, a Morning Star black burger and Popchips.  If you haven't tried Popchips then run, not walk, to the closest store that carries them.  I felt guilty eating these because they tasted like Lays sour cream and onion. MMmm all those chips for 100 measly calories.

I'm a monster today and can't get my mind off food. I'm going to burn this off at the gym.
1/2 a Mojo Dipped PB&J bar. This tasted, dare I say it, better than a PB&J sandwich. Who doesn't live a good old fashioned PB&J? It's taking all my willpower not to eat the other half.

This was my husband last year on Halloween.  Isn't he sexy?  Don't ask me what exactly he was, I think he was going for a Seattle rocker dude.

And this is how my husband looks normally...much better. ♥

Workout:  I did 45 minutes on the torture machine again followed by abs.  The only thing that kept me going was thinking about the hot tub after.

We went to Subway for dinner, I haven't been there in forever.  I ordered the foot long chicken breast and saved half for tomorrow.  On the way home we HAD to stop to buy an avocado. I forgot how much I like Subway.

It felt so good to unwind, soak in the hot tub and watch The Office.

Dessert was a repeat of last night ~ love Vitatops!

Good night. ♥♥Irene

Amazing Indeed

The wonderful people at Amazing Grass sent me some goodies to sample.  They are so generous to the blogging community.  I was like a kid on Christmas morning when I got home and saw the package.  I've been wanting to try these products for the longest time now.

From their website:

  • A delicious drink powder to help you achieve your recommended 5 to 9 daily servings of fruits and vegetables.
  • Naturally balanced source of antioxidants, B- vitamins, carotenoids, phytonutrients, enzymes, dietary fiber and essential fatty acids.
  • Sustains energy naturally and boosts your immune system.
  • Great for detoxifying and cleanses.
  • Probiotics and enzymes to aid digestion and absorption.
  • Complete raw food with powerful antioxidants.
  • Alkaline green plant foods help balance acidic pH levels.
  • More organic whole leaf greens per gram than any of the leading ‘green drinks’ – not from juice.
  • Featuring Sambazon organic pure acai and organic maca.
  • No soy lecithin fillers.
  • Non dairy, Gluten free, Non-GMO, Vegan Certified Organic.
Bear with me over the next few weeks because I will be trying a new product daily.

Moving on, I can't believe how sore I am today.  I'm feeling like an old lady, it feels good though.

Breakast was baby food, I joke but baby food was my topping of choice on my yogurt.  Man, this yogurt is thick!  I like my granola topping better than this, boo!

Mid-morning snack was this little baby.

Almond Breeze milk (no sugar added) and 1 packet of Chocolate Green SuperFood.

Grade: I would give this drink a A-.  It had a little bite but I couldn't tell if it was the powder or my almond milk.  I could see myself drinking one of these eveyr day.  Calorie wise it's great, almond milk is 40 for 1 cup and the super food has 30, can't bet that for 70 calories. I can't wait to try this in smoothies, maybe with a banana mmMMm.
Mix a tablespoon of Chocolate Green SuperFood with dairy, rice or soy milk or add it to a smoothie. One serving gives you the antioxidant equivalent of 7 servings of fruits and vegetables and helps you hit your daily quota.

Chocolate Green SuperFood: All natural and organic ingredients include organic wheat grass, organic barley grass, organic alfalfa, organic spirulina, organic spinach, organic chlorella (cracked cell-wall), organic broccoli, organic dutch cocoa, organic redwood cocoa, organic cacao, natural chocolate flavoring, organic acai from Sambazon, organic maca, organic carrot, organic beet, raspberry, organic rose hips, pineapple, green tea, acerola cherry, organic flax seed powder, organic oat fiber, apple pectin fiber, F.O.S. (from chicory root), L. acidophilus, alpha and beta amylase, protease, lipase, lactase, cellulase, siberian eleuthero root, peppermint and organic sea salt. 100% Vegan

My second snack was 1/2 a Green SuperFood bar. Let me tell you, this was delish ♥. The green color on the inside me threw me off a little but if I was closing my eyes I would have never knew.

Lunch: I was ready for lunch today.  I had salad topped with tuna, with crackers and an apple on the side.  I also finished the other 1/2 of my SuperFood Bar ~ good stuff!

Workout: Tonight was 24 Lift class ~ I'm in love with this class ♥.  My best friend and I went together, we are great at motivating each other. She was the girl who helped me lose some pounds before my wedding.  I couldn't talk the husband into taking the class but he worked hard on the elliptical.
Noelle and I (my best bud)

After our workout we headed to a teriyaki restaurant down the road. I didn't have my phone to take a pic but the food was absolutely disgusting.  I ordered white chicken and brown rice and the chicken tasted like something that was taken out of the freezer and thrown in the micro.
Later, we went to Noelle's house for a dip in the hot tub, that really hit the spot after a tough workout. Dessert made up for my dinner a little bit, I inhaled a chocolate Vitatop with 1 scoop of french silk ice cream w/whip...and one baby sized 3 Musketeers.

Question:  What is your weight lifting routine? ♥♥Irene

Morning workout plan

I'm definitely feeling the burn this morning from my workout class. OUCH!
So, I think I want to try something new, Therese inspired me (http://healthyhotthousewife.blogspot.com/).  I'm going to try and workout in the morning one to two days per week!  The gym is exactly 10 minutes from my house so I know I can do this.
Here's how it would go:
Night before: Pack gym bag with work clothes/makeup/shampoo (basically my whole life in a bag)
4:50AM- Roll out of bed, walk pup, change into clothes
5:10AM- Arrive at the gym & workout for 1 hour
6:10AM- Hit the showers and get ready
7:10AM-7:30AM- Leave gym and drive to work

I'm super excited because my sister and her boyfriend are coming to visit for Xmas/New Years!!  I haven't seen my sister in exactly one year and I can't wait!  I need to plan some fun things to do and show some New Yorker's what Seattle is all about.

I'm not sure if it's my imagination but I think my Lucky Jeans fit better today.  My next goal is to get my booty back in my cute 7 Jeans.

Breakfast was, you guessed it ~ Greek yogurt with raspberries and nola.  I really switched it up today and tried TJ's Honey Greek Yogurt, little higher in calories than Fage (130 in TJ's and 90 in Fage).
OMG this tasted like dessert, I had a little accident with the stevia so it was pretty sweet.  I might stick to the plain because the sugar is a bit high, 17 G.

I had my lunch all packed then forgot most of it was home. So, I settled for another frozen meal.
This was a sick joke because the cheese did not melt on my Healthy Choice Panini. WTF? Is this even real food? Have you ever tried crackers and apples together? It's actually really yummy, I just discovered this today. The only thing I was missing was CHEESE!  So, I tossed my lunch in the trash (besides my apples and crackers) that was the sickest thing I've had in a long time.

After work I met my friend at the dog park for a little pup play time.  It's getting dark so early, sigh.  I snacked on some grapes on the way.

Workout: I almost talked myself into skipping the gym tonight but I didnt...I'm SO glad I didn't.  I rocked 45 minutes on the 100i aka the torture machine.  I burnt 500 calories, so the machine said.  I also did about 100 crunches.

Dinner was a 5 egg white (with one yolk) scramble.  I threw in some peppers, onions, ham and topped it with avocado & salsa.  Any suggestions on not having watery egg whites?  On the side I had my normal PB&J english muffin. ☺

Good night!  I might dig into a pumpkin cookie later. ♥♥Irene

Workout Schedule

Oh Monday, how I hate love you! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty uneventful. I'm pretty proud of my eating. It's been a long time since I didn't blow it 100% on the weekend. I did however make pumpkin cookies. These cookies are so easy, 1 box spice cake mix, 1 can of pumpkin, 1 cup of oats, 1/4 cup of ground flax, about 1/2 cup of applesauce, random spices like cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice and bake @ 350. I added some dark chocolate chips, yum. I'm guilty of eating some of the batter and a couple off cookies.

Here is my workout schedule for the week:
Mon- 24 S.E.T. Class @ 5:30 (This cardio/strength combination class alternates strength exercises to sculpt every major muscle group with easy to follow step moves.)
Tues- Arms/Elliptical or Turbokick ~ last time I tried Turbokick I felt like a jackass
Wed- 24Lift Class
Thur- Legs/Run on treadmill
Fri- Off ~ Friend's house warming party
Sat- off (hair done) HALLOWEEN!!!
Sun-Arms/Elliptical

Breakfast was Fage 0% w/raspberries and granola bits.  My fave! ♥

Greek yogurt always holds me over well.  Snack was a honeycrisp and a One Organic Food Bar, these are SO good, if you haven't tried them.

Alright, I'm tempted to not show my lunch picture because it looks sick, but what the hell.
Leftover chili, this was good...nom nom nom

Workout:  I tried a new class tonight at 24 hour fitness called 24 S.E.T. ~ it was okay, not bad not good but okay.  The instructor didn't take time to explain things and was off beat.  Maybe I should teach the class next time? jk  Oh how I miss my old kickboxing class!

When I got home I snacked on a few bunch of flax chips with avocado, not photo worthy.  I may or may not have gotten into the Kashi Go Lean cereal.

Jeez, I was a bottomless pit tonight.  I hate when I have STARVING days like today.

Dinner was english muffin pizzas.  Not pictured was me eating 1/2 of the husband's pizza.

Good night! ♥♥Irene
Someone lock the fridge before I go back for more!

Busy Sunday

It's Sunday already?! I'm going to make the best of today, tomorrow is back to work.

We had a great time last night at the fights but when we got home at 11PM, I was STARVING! I didn't realize the brewery had nothing but fried food so I stuffed my face.  I was a good girl and waiting until I got home.

Derek woke up early again for work, sigh the weekend off alone can get lonely. Tonight Derek's brother, Brett, and his girlfriend are coming over for dinner. They haven't seen the new house so I'm excited to have them over. I still can't believe they haven't seen the house. This house has been a work in progress for the past year of my life. We finally moved in exactly one month ago. Brett asked if he could ride his dirt bike around our back yard, I was thinking hell no not a good idea. We have over 2 acres but I don't want the yard torn up.  Anyway, I need to figure out something to make for dinner. I'm thinking something in the crockpot.

Breakfast was a big bowl of cereal and a PB&J english muffin.  Good stuff!!

Workout: Running in new shoes = BAD idea...ouch.  I will spare you the details but I had a bloody foot. =(
I ended up running/power walking for 45 minutes.

Alright, I'm off to Trader Joe's, Target, Fred Meyers and much more. I better get going.

Stepped on the scale

We decided to go watch the fights tonight! I'm excited to see some friends that I haven't seen in forever.
I left my house this morning to workout and I forgot to eat breakfast! Me forgetting to eat RARELY happens (when pigs fly). I realized when I was pulling into the gym.

Workout: I spent 30 minutes on different leg machines, 3 sets of 15 reps. I burnt 400 calories on the elliptical, I did intervals of level 5 and 10 for about 40 minutes.

When I got home I whipped up the quickest thing I could find. I hate when I let my body get that hungry. A big bowl of Total and a PB&J double fiber english muffin. Yum, it really hit the spot.

Right when I was done eating I starting cleaning like a maid. It feels good to have clean house though. I also started chili in the crockpot for dinner/leftovers. Look at me, I'm quite the house wife...hehe jk.

MY WEIGHT: EeeEEkkKK ~ I'm not happy about this at all, I'm quite sad matter of fact. The number was 160 on the gym scale. I would be thrilled to never see that number again. I'm 5'11 so the average weight for my height is 135-176. I have a medium frame so my ideal weight it 140-145. I was 140 exactly one year ago. It's true about newlywed weight.

I snapped a picture of my backyard after breakfast, it's definitely fall in Seattle.

How I love Saturday

I love Saturday mornings! My husband had to wake up bright and early this morning and go to work. This leaves me with the entire day to get things done.
For some reason I can't sleep in after Derek leaves. I live in a big house and I hear all sorts of weird things that freak me out. Anyway, I was out of bed by 8AM. I will be sleepy tonight since we went to bed at 1AM.
Here is my sleepy baby girl...
Workout: I want to knock the gym out early and get it over with. I would like to do some leg work and some cardio.
We have two options tonight, 1. watch the fight at a local brewery with a bunch of friends or 2. go to a charity auction, "dancing with the stars", with our other friends. I'm going to let Derek decide what we are doing, I think both sound good. The girl in me is saying the auction so I can dress up pretty. ☺I don't drink beer either, yuck. The only thing I could drink at the brewery is root beer, they don't sell wine. Sigh!
We finally decided what we are doing for our one year anniversary!! We are going to Portland and the Oregon Coast. More details soon.
Enjoy the morning ~ I'm off to refill my coffee. ♥♥Irene

Good eats

I finally feel like I'm on the right track health/fitness wise. It's amazing what eating right and working out can do for your body/mind. I woke up starving this morning. I was actually dreaming about fudge balls that I saw on another blog, they were healthy ones. haha who dreams about that?
Breakfast is another repeat, since I'm exciting like that. My raspberries were moldy, ick.
Question: Can someone give or e-mail me a breakdown of Body for Life? My best friend and I really want to try the diet but I'm SO confused on where to start.
I can't believe my one year wedding anniversary is sneaking up on me, November 8th!! I wish I was in the same shape as my wedding day but I'm pretty far from that right now. I decided I'm going to buy batteries for my scale. I need to suck it up and step on.
Snack was once again a replay from yesterday. I really need to mix up my meals at work. While I was cutting up my apple someone in the kitchen was making Texes Garlic Cheese Toast. OMG I wanted some of that. I used to give the guys in my office shit about what they ate, but I learned that was rude and stopped. hehe
I was dreading lunch today because all I had at home was a frozen meal. I was actually pleasantly surprised!! I had a Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers, Chicken Pesto. MMMmmMM it was good! The ingredient list scared me a bit, but I don't eat frozen meals too often. I woofed that baby down in record time.
Workout: Not tonight, as much as I wanted to
We went out to dinner and a movie with our good friends, Ryan and Karen. I ♥ these people and I'm so glad we have them in our lives. Anyway, we went to the BEST Pho please ever. That's saying a lot for Seattle. The chicken was ALL white and the veggies and broth were delsih. After dinner we went to see Couples Retreat. To be honest, I didn't think the movie was that great. I was really tired so that didn't help but there we some funny parts.

Rain Rain, go away!

It's been raining non-stop the past two weeks in Seattle. BOO this weekend doesn't look good either, oh well.
I'm feeling good today, just the right amount of sore from my workout last night.
TGIF ~ Work has been crazy but I'm glad it's Friday!! Where has the week gone? My boss and a few others that work on my side of the office are in Colorado until Sunday for a conference, it's a little too quiet over here.
Breakfast is a repeat of yesterday, I can't get enough Greek Yogurt!

Question of the day: My scale ran out of batteries, should I buy a new battery or not weight myself? I have no idea what I weight right now.
Snack was a HUGE, yummy honeycrisp apple and a Fiber 1 blueberry muffin.

I planned ahead last night and mixed up some tuna to bring to work, with Fiber Wheat Thins & carrots. This really hit the spot when I realized it was 2PM and I hadn't eaten lunch. 1 can of tuna didn't look like much when I was done mixing it, but it was very filling.

Workout: My hubby, best friend, and I hit the gym up full force. We warmed up on the treadmill for 10 minutes, then ran the 5K and warmed down. I was nice and sweaty, for some reason the run was REALLY hard for me.
Dinner was grilled cheese, with ham, avavado and BBQ sauce. Sorry about the paper plates, our new house doesn't have a disposal yet so the less dishes, the better.
My snack for the night was a Skinny Cow and a few dark chocolate raisins.

Any fun weekend plans? ♥♥Irene

Greek Yogurt Love

How is everyone? I've been so busy this past week or so, but I'm still keeping up with my eating and working out. I decided I'm going to start taking more pictures of what I eat, to keep me accountable. I also want to try as many new healthy products as possible.
It's been so long since I've had Greek Yogurt that I completely forgot how much I love the stuff.
My breakfast consisted of Greek Yogurt (mixed with Stevia to make it yummy), fresh raspberries and Granola Crisps from Yogi. ♥Delish!!
That held me over for a long time. For snack I had a blueberry flax muffin made by yours truly. Well sorta, I took a box of Blueberry Fiber 1 Muffin Mix and added applesauce instead of water/oil, two eggs whites and two heaping scoops of ground flax. They turned out perfect!

Lunch was a crap load of carrots and leftover sweet potato fries from last night. The picture isn't pretty but it was yummy! I have to admit that I wasn't very hungry at lunch but made myself eat anyway.

Tonight I tried a new class at 24 Hour called core strength. I have to admit that when I first walked in I didn't think it would be a great workout. Well, I was wrong, it was pretty amazing. The website said the class was 45 minutes and my husband was waiting out front so I had to high tail it early.
When I got home I snacked on 1/2 an avocado with salsa.

Dinner was stir fry. I cut up some chicken breasts, added peppers, broccoli, onions, slaw, soy sauce and noodles. Derek loved it!
Have a lovely day! My formatting is all funky right now so my pictures are showing up as one long code. Grrr! I need to figure this out. ♥♥Irene
